SalarySolve · Pay Conversion52-week year
To convert hourly pay to annual salary, multiply your hourly rate by hours per week, then by 52. At full-time hours (40/week), $20/hour = $41,600 per year, $25/hour = $52,000, and $30/hour = $62,400. Going the other way, divide salary by 2,080: a $70,000 salary equals $33.65/hour.

The formula

The standard conversion assumes a full-time schedule: hourly rate × hours per week × 52 weeks. At 40 hours per week, that's the familiar shortcut of multiplying your hourly rate by 2,080. Going the other way, divide an annual salary by 2,080 to get its hourly equivalent — a $65,000 salary works out to $31.25 per hour.

Two caveats matter in real life. Salaried roles often expect more than 40 hours without extra pay, which quietly lowers the true hourly rate. And hourly roles usually don't include paid holidays or the same benefits, so a salary and its "equivalent" hourly rate aren't always equal in total compensation.

Frequently asked questions

How much is $25 an hour annually?

$52,000 per year at 40 hours a week ($25 × 2,080 hours). That's $4,333 per month or $2,000 per biweekly paycheck, before taxes.

How do I convert salary to hourly?

Divide the annual salary by your yearly hours — 2,080 for a standard 40-hour week. A $60,000 salary is $28.85/hour; $80,000 is $38.46/hour. If you routinely work 50-hour weeks on salary, divide by 2,600 instead to see your true rate.

Does the conversion account for unpaid time off?

The standard formula assumes 52 paid weeks. Hourly workers without paid vacation should subtract unpaid weeks: at $25/hour with 2 unpaid weeks off, real annual pay is $50,000, not $52,000.

Is $22 an hour a good wage?

$22/hour is $45,760 a year full-time — close to the median individual income in the US. Whether it's 'good' depends heavily on local cost of living: it stretches much further in low-cost states than in coastal metros.
